a+f GmbH, a company of the GILDEMEISTER Group, has secured yet another major order to the tune of Euro 21.6 million. The Würzburg-based company closed the order following the world’s largest trade fair for solar technology, the Intersolar 2008 in Munich.

a+f GmbH in Würzburg, a company of the GILDEMEISTER group, has received a further major order from Spain at a value of Euro 49.9 million. The order is for the delivery of 216 "SunCarrier" to the Extremadura region. a+f has now received a second major order within two weeks for its state-of-the art solar installations, which achieve about 30% more output than conventional systems

At the most important opening event of the year in Southern Germany, GILDEMEISTER achieved order intake of Euro 102.6 million in five days. This is the best result so far from the annual exhibition at DECKEL MAHO in Pfronten (Allgäu). The success of this traditional in-house exhibition underlines the strong start into the financial year 2008.

The financial year 2007 was the most successful in GILDEMEISTER’s 137-year company history. Sales revenues rose by 18% to Euro 1,562.1 million (previous year: Euro 1,329.0 million). Order intake achieved an increase of 29% to Euro 1,864.8 million (previous year: Euro 1,442.9 million). Profitability continued to develop positively.

At GILDEMEISTER Aktiengesellschaft and subsidiaries yesterday, investigations were carried out by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. GILDEMEISTER has a great interest in a comprehensive clarification of the occurrences and will most emphatically support the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the inquiries. The Board of Directors assumes that it will be possible to clarify the allegations and that these will prove to be unfounded.

GILDEMEISTER Aktiengesellschaft, a worldwide leading manufacturer of cutting machine tools, is to join the MDAX. Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt made the official announcement following a review of the index composition. Effective as of 12 December, GILDEMEISTER will be quoted on the MDAX.
